BS476-7 is a British fire test standard for building materials. Its full name is Fire Tests for Building Materials and Structures - Part 7: Test Methods for ***ermining the Surface Extension of Flames of Products. This standard is mainly used to ***ermine the flame extension of exposed surfaces of building materials such as walls, insulation materials, and ceilings.
The BS476-7 test process mainly includes the following steps: ? Sample preparation: Quantity requirements: 9 test specimens should be provided, which should be representative of the exposed surfaces of such products. Size requirements: The test specimen should be a rectangle of 885mm¡Á270mm and the thickness should not exceed 50mm.
? Equipment commissioning and preheating: ?Install test equipment: Ensure that the combustion box, gas radiation panel, medium-sized gas blowtorch, sample bracket and other equipment are installed correctly and connected firmly. Among them, the area of the radiation panel is usually 850mm¡Á850mm, and the sample bracket must be perpendicular to the radiation panel. ? Debug the gas supply: adjust the flow of gas and air to ensure that the gas burner and radiation panel can work normally and the flame intensity meets the standard requirements. The radiation intensity of the radiation panel should be 32.5kW/m2 (surface) at a distance of 75mm, and the flame of the burner should be 75-100mm high. ? Preheat the radiation panel: ignite the ignition point of the radiation panel for preheating. The preheating time is usually 15 minutes, and the radiation panel needs to be extinguished after the preheating.
? Test operation: ? Place the sample: Place the prepared sample on the sample holder, pay attention to the relative position of the sample and the radiation panel, and ensure that the sample can be fully exposed to the radiation heat source. ? Ignition and timing: Ignite the radiation panel, turn the sample holder to a position at a 90¡ã angle to the radiation panel surface within 5 seconds, and immediately start |
