Integrity: Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of building partition components to prevent flames and heat from penetrating or flames from appearing on the non-fire side for a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire. For example, when testing a wall, it will be observed whether there are cracks, holes, etc. in the wall, which will cause flames and heat to spread from one side to the other. If the component does not have flame penetration within the specified test time (such as 30 minutes, 60 minutes or longer), its integrity is considered to meet the requirements. Integrity testing is particularly important for opening components such as doors and windows. Whether the sealing material of the door or window can effectively prevent the entry of flames and smoke under high temperature in the fire is a key evaluation factor.
Thermal insulation:Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of a building partition component to keep the temperature of the non-fire surface within a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire. Temperature measurement equipment such as thermocouples are usually used to monitor temperature changes.
For example, for a fire wall, if the thermal insulation is poor, the high temperature on one side of the fire will quickly transfer to the other side, which may cause items on the other side to be ignited, or make it impossible for people to approach the wall for evacuation and other activities. The standard stipulates that the temperature rise on the other side of the component cannot exceed a specific limit within a certain period of time to ensure its thermal insulation performance.
